DRY NEEDLING
Dry needling is a technique that involves the insertion of a fine filiform needle into muscles or connective tissue. Oftentimes, dry needling is used to treat myofascial trigger points, which are localized hypersensitive spots in a palpable taut band of muscle. Dry needling has been shown to increase range of motion, decrease muscle tone, and decrease pain in patients with musculoskeletal conditions.
Conditions that dry needling may help with include:
· Low back pain
· Neck pain
· Headaches
· Shoulder pain
· Hip pain
· Knee pain
· Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders
· Tendinopathies
